Firefighters bare boots for good cause

Coquitlam firefighters are giving the boot to muscular dystrophy.

This coming weekend, Coquitlam Firefighters will be out and hoping to fill their footwear at specific locations in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

Those buying groceries or catching a movie will have an opportunity to help fill those boots with change.

Demonstrating their support for people with neuromuscular disorders, local firefighters will be accepting donations and raise awareness to help 'make muscles move.'

Funds raised by the firefighters go towards improving the quality of life for people living with neuromuscular disorders by purchasing mobility equipment, providing support services, and funding research which will one day lead to a cure.

The firefighters will be ready, boots in hand, to accept donations at the following locations: London Drugs and food court entrances of Coquitlam Centre Mall; at NoFrills on Como Lake Avenue; both Real Canadian Superstores at 1301 and 3000 Lougheed Hwys; PriceSmart Foods at Pinetree Way and Lougheed; SilverCity Coquitlam Cinemas on Schoolhouse; and Thrifty Foods at Austin and Mariner.
