PORT MOODY — It must have looked like a bad scene out of a mobster movie.

Port Moody police taped off an area around Suter Brook late Sunday morning after getting a call about what appeared to be a body being loaded into the trunk of vehicle in a dirt lot adjacent to 400 Capilano Rd.

When police arrived, they found a small trail of blood leading to tire tracks in the dirt.

The area was taped off and officers began looking for the suspect vehicle.

While the search was underway, the owner of the vehicle returned.

According to police, apparently he and his brother were out walking a dog in the dirt lot when the brother stepped on a piece of rebar and cut his foot fairly badly.

Since the brother was unable to walk, the man drove his SUV into the lot, opened the rear hatch, loaded his brother into the back and took him to hospital.

Police later confirmed the story with the brother and staff at the hospital.
