Three people sent to hospital after pedestrian accident

 

 
 
 

TRI-CITIES - Three people were sent to hospital this weekend after a driver may have had a seizure while driving in Port Coquitlam.

On Saturday, Jan. 21 at 9:46 a.m., Coquitlam RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle collision with a pedestrian on Kingsway at Beresford Street.

According to police, the driver seemed to have had a seizure and accelerated onto the wrong side of the road while approaching Westview Street. Her car went up on the sidewalk and hit a pedestrian and two lamp poles before stopping.

The 44-year-old pedestrian was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital in critical condition.

As well, the 52-year-old driver is in stable condition at Royal Columbian Hospital. The passenger, her 15-year-old daughter, has been released from hospital.
