Business owners, lawyers, lobbyists control Canada

Re: "Who controls national economic interest?" column by Keith Baldrey, Wednesday, Jan. 18.

The marketplace controls "national economic interest."

In other words, business owners, lawyers and lobbyists control "our" economy. Where they can make the most money controls what goes on in a capitalist system.

Forget the word "China" and replace it with "business owners, lawyers and lobbyists."

If they can make money, they'll do what they can. Ordinary folks, we get the crumbs. Our hospitals and schools sure could use more money for patients and students. Do the owners of banks, gas companies and the Canucks need so much money?

Hey, they take all they can. Back to China: Canada will deny foreign aid to countries that don't allow freedom of religion, but our prime minister sure will take money from them. Morally bankrupt or greedy?
