Chamber applauds mobile business licence

After years of discussion and cooperation between local municipalities, the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce formally announced Wednesday that a mobile business licence has been approved for the Tri-Cities.

Naomi Yamamoto, Minister of State for Small Business, along with Tri-Cities mayors Mike Clay, Greg Moore and Richard Stewart, made the announcement during a press conference at Canstar Restorations in Coquitlam.

"[The licence] allows mobile businesses to operate in several municipalities with only one licence - so business owners can spend less time doing paperwork and more time on making their businesses a success," Yamamoto said in a press release.

"The Chamber is proud to have worked with dedicated staff members from all three cities on this proposal," the press release stated, adding that special thanks go out to Couns. Craig Hodge of Coquitlam, Mike Forrest of Port Coquitlam and Diana Dilworth of Port Moody, who brought the Tri-Cities together in order to make the new licence a reality.
