A valiant pushback nearly did the trick, but the Coquitlam Chargers fell just short in losing 22-19 to the Vancouver Trojans in bantam football action.
Vancouver scored the game's first three majors to lead 22-0 at the half, but the Chargers put on their rally caps.
Quarterback Lucas Gill threw for two touchdowns, with Bowen Goldade and Liam Stewart scoring the majors. Late in the game, Jason Tade recovered a fumble and cashed it in for the team's third TD.
In the end, Coquitlam was full marks for the comeback effort. Picking up some big yardage during the contest was Martin Norman, while Devin Pal recorded a clutch QB sack.
