I have never written to the editor before. Today, I have a reason. The other day there was, as police would call it, a domestic disturbance
in my neighbourhood. It was between a male and female. It was outside and turning really scary. I finally called 911. The 911 operator was not only nice, but she said, "Is that the disturbance on such and such street?" "Yes," I said, and the operator
said, "We have had multiple calls and are sending out multiple units to help them."
I noticed after I'd hung up that people from the area were gathering to make sure no one was getting hurt.
I was so proud of where I lived and the police and how fast they
got here and cleared things up. On behalf of all men, women and children, if you think you hear something that sounds like someone either is or will be hurt, call 911 and let the professionals come and help.
