Think a good spy thriller has to be fictional?
The Port Moody Film Society's October movie features Soviet officials, deceptive diplomats, spies, moles, even presidents - and it's all based on real events.
From France, Farewell screens tonight (Friday, Oct. 12) at the Inlet Theatre.
It features enough intrigue to make James Bond green with plot-envy. As the Soviet Union shows signs of unravelling, army Col. Sergei Gregoriev begins to leak information to the west using naïve and unlikely methods and contacts.
As simplistic as his intelligence network is, nations hang in the balance and power has never been so shaken and stirred. The film is in French with English subtitles.
Admission is $5 at the door with an annual $5 member-ship to the Port Moody Film Society. The box office opens at 6: 45 p.m., and showtime is 7: 30 p.m.
Inlet Theatre is located at 100 Newport Dr.
