When Tom Williams of Williams Moving and Storage heard the penny was being discontinued, he set a goal of collecting one million coppers in support of people living with ALS and their caregivers.

By Jan. 28, he had collected 968,027 pennies, and was just 31,973 short of his goal.

To help Williams reach his goal, you can drop pennies off at Williams Moving & Storage, 2401 United Blvd., Coquitlam.

Those unable to drop pennies off can coordinate direct deposit by calling the ALS Society at 1-800-708-3228.
