Over the past week I have been receiving telephone calls from a man who speaks English with a thick accent.
He asks for me by name and then says he is calling about a refund due to me from a credit card or bank.
He then starts asking for bank tracking info, at which point I hang up.
The call display indicates different numbers in the United States, Florida once and the Seattle area another time.
Our phone provider offers call blocking so after each call we block the number but he calls again from a different number.
I know this is a scam but many senior citizens may be taken in by this scammer.
We cannot repeat it too often: never give personal banking info over the phone or Internet when approached by an unknown caller.
