SATURDAY, JAN. 5

Port Coquitlam Firefighters, HSR Services and Foam Only are recycling Christmas lights, strands and Styrofoam on Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Port Coquitlam #1 Fire Hall (1725 Broadway St.). Drop-off is by donation,

with proceeds going towards the B.C. Professional Firefighters Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit.

Cedar Drive Elementary PAC is offering Christmas tree chipping by donation, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the school parking lot (3150 Cedar Dr., Port Coquitlam). Funds go towards Cedar Drive PAC sponsored events.

The 10th Coquitlam Scouts are holding a bottle drive in the area around Walton Elementary. Pickup info: 604-944-7665.

The Trinity United Church/St. Catherine's Anglican presents a performance of the Joyous Epiphany, 7 p.m. (2211 Prairie Ave., Port Coquitlam), an interactive play about the Wise Men's visit to Bethlehem. Children are invited to participate in an evening of song and dance.

The PoCo squirt A Ravens softball team is holding a refundable beverage container drive, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., to raise funds for the upcoming season. The pickup spot is at McLean Park (Wellington St. and Grant Ave., Port Coquitlam).
