Looking for something fun to do on Halloween or in the days leading up to it? There are plenty of options in the Tri-Cities:

. Betty Owen and Phil Crawford are at it again with their annual Halloween display at 1924 Westminster Ave. in PoCo. Open from 6 to 9 p.m. from Oct. 26 through Halloween, the display will feature creepy monsters, spiders and a "new addition."

Donations will be collected for the local SPCA.

. A family-friendly haunted house is also set up at 443 Draycott St. in Coquitlam, south of the 2100 block of Austin near Mundy. Vickie Ayers' annual haunted house will be open through Halloween. Donations will be accepted to support Variety - The Children's Charity of B.C. The event will also feature a bottle drive and coin drive.

. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 133, will host a Halloween Spooktacular Karaoke event on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. Prizes will be given for the best costume, and there will also be a 50/50 draw and door prizes. The frightful event will be held at 2675 Shaughnessy St. in Port Coquitlam. For more information, call 604-942-8911.

. Local music teacher, children's entertainer and Place des Arts' faculty member Mr. I will get kids and parents alike in the mood for Halloween with his annual Halloween concert, Mr. I's Slightly Spooky Songs and Stories, on Sunday, Oct. 28.

Geared toward kids aged two and older, the show will feature costumes galore and an emphasis on audience participation.

. All are welcome to visit the third-annual Haunted Backyard on Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27 in support of the Coquitlam Animal Shelter. Anyone can drop by 486 McGill Dr. in Port Moody from 6 to 8 p.m., where they will find a spooky graveyard, a monster alley, a spider forest pumpkin patch and haunted house. The first hour will be slightly less scary for younger children. This year, the shelter has requested Friskies Pate and pill pockets for cats and lean cut dog foods and veterinary "gastro" foods and pill pockets for dogs.

. On Halloween, the Terry Fox Library will host Spooky Stories from 10: 15 to 10: 45 a.m. at 2470 Mary Hill Rd. in Port Coquitlam. Children are invited to show up to the Oct. 31 event in costume for a parade around the library and to join the library's puppet friends. Everyone is welcome to attend. . Another haunted Halloween display is spooking the neighbourhood at a home at 1838 Haversley Ave. in Coquitlam. The display runs through Halloween from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. The Haversley Haunted Cemetery is raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society.

. Monsters will be lurking on Oct. 31 at a Halloween display at 2988 Forestridge Place in Coquitlam. The home lights up nightly from 6 to 10 p.m., while donations are being collected to support Variety - The Children's Charity of B.C.

. It will be another big show Halloween night (Oct. 31) at a spooky haunted house at 2980 Cape Court, Coquitlam. Donations will be collected for Eagle Ridge Hospital.

. On Oct. 31, Lougheed Town Centre will host its annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat fundraiser from 4 to 5 p.m. Kids aged two to 12 are invited in costume and with a parent, to enjoy trick-or-treating at participating retailers in safety and warmth. A minimum suggested donation of $1 per child will be collected at all doors. All proceeds will go towards the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society. Cameras are welcome.

. The Coquitlam Farmers Market on Sunday, Oct. 28 will have a Halloween Spooktacular theme, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Dogwood Pavilion, 624 Poirier St.
