Participants of A chance to choose (c2c), a youth employment program run by SUCCESS, will receive the National Youth Employment Coalition's award for socially responsible green initiative on Oct. 30. The award recognizes a community project participants built for the Tri-City Transitions women's resource centre: a permaculture garden. Community volunteers also helped build the garden. Permaculture aims to develop agricultural ecosystems that are complete and self-sustaining.
The award will be presented at a fundraising dinner at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1504 Sprice Ave. in Coquitlam. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the ceremony starts at 6: 30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 each. To reserve a spot, call 604-931-5889.
