Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce members met at the Red Robinson Show Theatre at the Boulevard Casino Saturday to honour the winners of the Business Excellence Awards.

Attendees enjoyed fine food and wine, dancing and door prizes. A highlight of the evening was when all three Tri-Cities mayors got behind the casino tables to act as black jack dealers.

The following businesses and individuals were honoured:

- Not-for-Profit of the Year: Douglas College Foundation;

- Chamber Member of the Year: Fred Soofi;

- Business Leader of the Year: Jim Irwin, Westwood Honda;

- Small Business of the Year: Sandpiper Signs & Decals Inc.;

- Business of the Year: Mr. Mikes Steakhouse & Bar; and

- Legacy Award: Betty Fox.

The last award was particularly touching, as Fox's granddaughter Jessica Alden accepted the honour on behalf of her grandmother.
