This year's Unplugged at the Crossroads Hospice Coffeehouse, which runs every second Friday through May, got off to a great start on Jan. 11 with performances by headliner Darren Exley and Tri-Cities students Alva Tang and Mik Chua, who make up the duo Mikhalva.

Other headline performers booked for the series include Doug Fraser (Jan. 25), New Fish (Feb. 8), Chris Ronald (Feb. 22), Paul Surridge & The Inner Room Band (March 8), Voice Studio (March 22), Echo Band (April 12), Pam Goessaert (April 26), Highrise Lonesome (May 10) and Stringz Aloud (May 24).

Shows take place at The Gathering Place at Leigh Square, and admission is $5 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m., with an open stage at 7: 30 p.m. and feature performer at 9 p.m.

Spots are still available for open stage performers. Contact wrmarshall@shaw.ca for details.

Unplugged performances benefit the Crossroads Hospice Society, which operates a facility with 10 private rooms in Port Moody, by raising funds and awareness.
