Meet Gizmo, who belongs to Del Johal of Coquitlam. Gizmo is three years old, and enjoys playing with feathers and eating beef-flavoured Temptations.
Meet Honey, a four-year-old dog from Coquitlam. Her favourite toy is her red squeaky ball (owner Sienna Lund writes that she is so gentle with the toy, which is "her baby"). Her favourite snack? Milk Bones.
Meet Nana, a one-year-old Bengal cat who lives in Port Moody. Her favourite toy is a mouse that squeaks and is attached to a stick, and her favourite treat is salmon bites. "Nana is very talkative and doesn't meow 'meow,' and meows her name in short version 'Na,' so her name is Nana," writes owner Kristine Hwang.
Meet Lola, a four-year-old cat who lives in Port Moody. She enjoys chasing a laser, and when it comes to treats, thinks chicken-flavoured Temptations are the best. Proud owner is Iriel Griffiths.
Sherry and Bruce McWilliam write that Stewie is a 10-month-old Persian cat. He lives in Port Moody, and enjoys playing with a toilet paper roll. His favourite treat is chicken.
Meet Katie, a 12-year-old cat who lives with owner Christine Sherwood - who writes that Katie's favourite toy is "me."
Anna Lo of Coquitlam writes that Carly, her Maltese puppy, is 4 _ months old. Carly's favourite toys are a "Sheepy and a Piggy." When it comes to snacks, she likes Filet Mignon Double Delights Treats.
This is Walker, a two-month-old puppy adopted from the SPCA. He lives with the Chen family (Linda, Margarita and Tom). His favourite toy is Flappy, an octopus-like soft chew toy. His favourite treat is shoelaces - naturally while the shoes are still on people's feet!
Lori Yu is the proud owner of Beau, a 13-week-old dog who lives in Coquitlam. He enjoys acorns, and when it comes to treats, favours "licking people's feet."
This is our Pet of the Month for July, Lily. She's 4 _ and lives in PoCo with Lisa Melquist. Lily, who was adopted from the Coquitlam Animal Shelter, likes playing with sticks she finds on her walks, and loves snacking on carrots.
This is Hailey, beloved Manx cat of NOW editor Leneen Robb and her husband Dave. We found her as a stray about nine months ago. An exhaustive search to locate her owners turned up no leads, so she settled in as our first pet. Unfortunately, she died July 10 of heart disease, which no one knew she had until days earlier. She was a friendly and affectionate cat who enjoyed rolling on the floor in the sunbeams shining through the window and eating any treats that came in a crinkly bag - as well as racing through her tunnel and greeting visitors at the door. We pay tribute to her here as a way of remembering all the faithful companions lost too soon. Rest in Peace, Hailey. You will be missed.
