Port Coquitlam's Kilmer Elementary takes its fundraising seriously. This year, the school set a record by raising more than $4,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation, including at a head-shaving event held Sept. 27.

The fundraising total was at $4,078.61 and climbing earlier this week, with donations being collected through Thursday.

The efforts were led by principal Andrew Corbould, who took part - along with two teachers and four students - in the head-shaving in the school's gym.
