Port Moody to host safety fair on Saturday

 

 
 
 

The City of Port Moody will host its first-ever safety fair on Saturday, Sept. 15.

The fair, which focuses on road safety, takes place at the traffic circle at City Hall, 100 Newport Dr., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Activities will include DriveWise driving simulators, putting, basketball shooting and hockey slap-shot games.

Kids are invited to enjoy a bouncy castle, bring their bikes to try a Pedalheads bike safety circuit, and enter a colouring competition.

Everyone who attends will also have a chance to win prizes, including two eightgigabyte iPod Touches courtesy of Port Moody Insurance.

Other exhibitors include the BC Ambulance Service, CP Rail Police, Evergreen Line Project, ICBC, MADD, Port Moody police and fire departments, Preventable, St. Johns Ambulance, Tri-City Speed Watch and Work Safe BC.

This event, sponsored by Pasta Polo, Port Moody Insurance Services and Thrifty Foods, is free, and complimentary refreshments will be served.
