A call over the long weekend sent Coquitlam fire crews to a car fire in the 900 block of Harris Avenue. It was the second vehicle fire in the area in a week.
The weekend fire did not spread to a nearby building and was quickly extinguished.
On Aug. 25, crews were called to the 900 block of Tupper Avenue to a stolen three-ton cube van on fire. That blaze spread to the roof of a nearby auto body shop, but was quickly extinguished.
The building suffered an estimated $5,000 in damages, while the truck, reported stolen from New Westminster, was a write-off.
Fire chief Tony Delmonico said there is no indication the two fires are related.
