A suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing last month is behind bars.
Coquitlam Mounties arrested Matthew Jowett-Work, 23, without incident in Coquitlam Wednesday. He was wanted in relation to a stabbing at a PoCo apartment on Feb. 10.
The RCMP issued two arrest warrants for Jowett-Work on Monday.
Police are saying little on how they got wind of the suspect's location, other than that investigators received information he was away from his home. RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung called the arrest "routine."
"That's what we like to see, including the suspect himself not getting hurt - we just want to bring him to justice," he said.
Police were called to the stabbing at an apartment on Coquitlam Avenue around 10 p.m. on Feb. 10.
A man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after reportedly being stabbed in the back.
At the time, investigators wouldn't say what had sparked the incident or whether anyone involved was known to police. The victim was later released from hospital.
Jowett-Work was wanted for assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon. He was also wanted for uttering threats and theft in relation to another incident.
The PoCo resident was expected to make a court appearance Thursday.
