Fort Langley’s Tara Teng has added a third crown, winning the title of Miss World Canada on the weekend.

Teng was Miss B.C. and Miss Canada in 2010 and 2011, respectively.

She has used her position to advocate for the victims of human trafficking and modern slavery, from developing nations to Canada.

It was her strong stance and volunteerism that got the attention of judges in her previous pageants.

Teng was also recently nominated for a YMCA Young Women of Distinction Award, and has asked Langley Township council to support efforts to educate people about human trafficking.
