Time is winding down, but it's not too late to buy tickets to the SHARE Society's marquee fundraiser of the year, set for this weekend.

The Imagine Gala takes place at the Red Robinson Show Theatre on Saturday, March 9 and combines the best in local culinary offerings with auction and raffle prizes and a chance to support the many community programs offered by the non-profit society.

Starting at 6: 30 p.m., the event will be hosted by Global TV personalities John Daly and Kaitlyn Herbst, and will include live entertainment by the Underground Circus.

Proceeds from ticket sales go towards a wide range of programming that SHARE provides annually: the food bank, the Christmas toy program, children's therapy services and substance abuse counselling.

"It's more of a mingling and a mixer event," said Kate Lawrence, SHARE's director of development. "It's not a sit-down event, so people come, mingle, chit-chat and they network."

Staff from local eateries (Wilbur and Sabastian's Smokehouse and Bistro, Sammy J's Grill and Bar, Joey's Coquitlam and the Backstage Grille @ Boulevard Casino) will vie for best savoury dish.

Dessert creations from the Christine Catering Company, Luscious Creations, Mr. Mike's Steakhouse & Bar and White Spot will compete for best sweet dish.

Auction and raffle prizes include a guitar autographed by blues legends Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang, and two tickets to anywhere in the world WestJet flies.

Imagine tickets cost $75 and can be purchased online at imagine.sharesociety.ca or by phone at 604-540-9161. They will not be available at the door.
