A youth is facing two charges following a daytime altercation at the Coquitlam Centre bus loop on the weekend.

Coquitlam Mounties were called to the bus loop Saturday afternoon on a report of a stabbing.

Police aren't revealing too many details, but investigators noted two people on the bus appeared to get into an argument.

A man described as "middle-aged" was then allegedly stabbed by a youth who can't be identified.

The man received superficial minor injuries.

Police don't believe the suspect and victim knew each other, while investigators interviewed several witnesses at the scene.

The youth is facing two charges including aggravated assault and breach of undertaking conditions.

The RCMP wouldn't say if the youth was known to police.
