Man arrested at SkyTrain station

Transit police say he was carrying a knife

A suspect in a sexual assault case will be spending some extra time behind bars after being picked up by transit cops last week.

Dwayne Dale Lacey, 31, was living at a residential treatment centre in Coquitlam prior to his arrest by police after a routine check at the Gateway SkyTrain Station in Surrey on Feb. 11.

It turned out Lacey was breaching his bail condition by being outside the residential treatment centre.

He ran away from the unnamed centre in Coquitlam a few days earlier on Feb. 8.

Besides not paying his fare, Transit Police allege Lacey was carrying a sheathed knife at the time, which is also a breach of his bail conditions.

Lacey was kept in custody for psychiatric assessment.

His next court appearance is set for March 12.
