Rhino article reeks of 'tabloid' journalism

Re: "Rhino's troubles affect charities," Wednesday, Jan. 25.

This article reeks of "tabloid" journalism.

Talk about throwing them under the bus.

These are good people. They have done a lot for the community - businesses and families.

Why wasn't there more reference to all the things they have done in/for the community?

Why did you have to list all the creditors - down to the very last cent? Surely the general public doesn't need to know this.

You could have at least waited to see what the outcome is on their proposal. They are obviously trying to do the right thing. I don't care whether it is "the public's right" to know. You can still offer a little decency and respect. This is obviously a very hard time for them and their family, and you can certainly bet they wouldn't have gone this route if they didn't absolutely have to.

I would have thought you would have written this as a "sorry to hear" piece rather than what seems like a "serves them right" angle.

After all the work they have done and money they have donated through the last several years, they certainly didn't get much back from their own community.

I am appalled at this apparent "get 'em while they're down" attitude.

I would like to see you post another piece that highlights all they have done over the years and to try to generate support for them rather than encouraging this "abandon ship" approach.

I am sure that they have done all they possibly could to avoid this situation and would appreciate recognition of that fact.
