COQUITLAM — In an effort to help more under-resourced youth get involved in Canada’s favourite game, Hyundai Hockey Helpers is coming to Coquitlam to celebrate Hyundai Hockey Helpers month.

The program will bring hockey helper ambassador teams to Coquitlam’s Planet Ice arena (2300 Rocket Way) on Saturday and Sunday to raise awareness to the project.

Hyundai Canada, including Jim Pattison Hyundai Coquitlam and in partnership with KidSport, is promoting this project that has already provided 1,000 kids across Canada with grants to help with equipment costs and registration fees.

Along with funds raised at dealerships, the ambassador teams have been visiting community arenas across B.C. to promote and raise funds for the program.

They will be at Planet Ice on Friday (Oct. 26), 5 to 9 p.m., and both Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All funds raised locally through the Hyundai Hockey Helpers program go towards helping reduce the costs of playing minor hockey for families in this community.
