COQUITLAM - The weather didn't cooperate often, but the Coquitlam-Moody minor baseball teams still dazzled on the diamond.

In the mosquito division playoffs last week, the Yankees doubled up on the Warrios 6-3, while the Astros edgd out the Whitesox to advance to the final.

The association's third-place game saw the Whitesox nudging the Warriors 5-3.

Because of heavy rains, the mosquito final was washed out after four innings. The end result was that both the Astros and Yankees were crowned as league champions.

Coquitlam-Moody, celebrating its 50th year of operation, will be hosting the Mosquito A provincials from Aug. 2 to 6 at Coquitlam Town Centre Park.
