Abbotsford's Boseko Lokombo and his Oregon Ducks, ranked No. 4 in the U.S. BCS rankings, will meet the Kansas State Wildcats in the Fiesta Bowl tonight in Glendale, Arizona.
Early in the season, these teams looked like a matchup to decide the national championship, but both Oregon and Kansas State lost one game. Both teams are 11-1 and 8-1 in the Pac 12 (Oregon) and Big 12 (Kansas).
Lokombo, a graduate of W.J. Mouat in Abbotsford is in his fourth year at U of O, with one more year of eligibility (after being red-shirted as a freshman). He is the top-ranked CFL prospect and also a highly touted NFL prospect (NFL draft in April 2013).
Team captain this year, Lokombo, an outside linebacker, insists he will finish his degree before deciding on a professional football career.
The Fiesta Bowl starts at 5 p.m. PST and will be broadcast on TSN2.
