The Archbishop Carney Stars are heading to Kamloops, thanks to a robust performance at last week's Fraser Valley AA senior boys basketball championships.

The Stars claimed the Valley's fourth and last spot to the provincials, on the heels of a 2-2 record at the tourney.

They were defeated 72-42 by Abbotsford Christian in the bronze medal game, after having bounced back from a tough semifinal loss with a spirited 53-38 decision over Holy Cross.

Carney fell to eventual champion Mission 69-46 in the semifinal.

The provincials run March 7 to 10 in Kamloops.
