Entering his second year as a Coquitlam Express, West Vancouver native Alexander Kerfoot won't be distracted by college recruiting trips and visits from scouts this coming season.

Kerfoot accepted a scholarship offer from Harvard University for the 2013-14 season to play NCAA Division 1 hockey.

As a rookie last season, Kerfoot counted 25 goals and 44 assists in 51 games, earning the B.C. Hockey League's top rookie award.

Kerfoot and the Express open training camp on Tuesday at the Poirier Rec rink. Their first exhibition test is Aug. 25 in Chilliwack.
