District 43's runners make strides at Fraser Valleys

 

 
 
 

A handful of runners turned on the jets at the recent Fraser Valley cross country championships, giving them some momentum heading into this weekend's provincial championships in Prince George.

Leading the way on the three-kilometre course among senior boys was Terry Fox's Nathan Wadhwani, who finished second with a time of 21 minutes, 25.47 seconds - less than 30 seconds behind Ecole Kwantlen's Tim Delcourt. Coming in sixth place was Isaac Wadhwani, also of Fox.

In senior girls, Dr. Charles Best's Addy Townsend set the pace for District 43, coming in fifth overall with a time of 17: 48.48. Finishing ninth was Dana Townsend, also of Best.

Among junior runners, Heritage Woods' Kyle Johnson claimed third for boys, while Louise Wildfang finished seventh for Riverside.

The Heritage Woods' junior boys team posted the best aggregate score in the Valley, while Port Moody finished third.
