COQUITLAM - The Terry Fox Run will be getting a boost from the Coquitlam Express on Friday when the B.C. Hockey League squad hosts an awareness and fundraising event as part of their game with the Surrey Eagles, 7 p.m. at the Coquitlam Sports Centre.
A pre-game barbecue, sponsored by Mr. Mike's Restaurant, will kick off the proceedings at 5:30 p.m. at the north entrance of the Poirier complex, with donations to the Terry Fox Foundation earning fans a burger and a coupon that will get them inside to the game for $5.
Guests at the game will have a chance to meet former Vancouver Canucks coach, two-time Jack Adams award winner and Olympic gold medal coach Pat Quinn, as well as Corner Gas star Fred Ewanuick and members of the Terry Fox family.
The fundraiser will also feature raffles, including a signed Henrik Sedin jersey.
The final home game of the season for the Express, Coquitlam will also hand out its annual team awards prior to Friday's faceoff.
