A full head of steam and a very competitive camp is what the Coquitlam Express hopes will convert into regular season wins.

The B.C. Hockey League squad kicked off its main camp this week, with 35 players pushing for 22 positions.

"Overall, the chemistry is pretty good and it's why we brought the boys in last week to hang out and spend some time together," Coquitlam head coach Jon Calvano said. "We've got a lot of good kids, good size and good skill - it's how we come together."

The team hits the ice for its first exhibition test Saturday in Chilliwack, before returning Sunday to host the Surrey Eagles for a 2 p.m. face off in the Poirier Sports Rec rink.

On Monday, Coquitlam entertains the Langley Rivermen for an 8 p.m. game in the Rec rink. They also play Chilliwack on Tuesday at the Burnaby Winter Club.
