Movember is upon us, which brings big games aplenty. Local sports fans can get their fill of knock-out affairs in both high school football and national college soccer.
BETWEEN THE LINES
. High school AAA playoff football, Saturday 8 p.m. at BC Place. Fresh off last week's regular season-ending duel, the Terry Fox Ravens (seeded third in the Eastern Conference) take on rival Centennial (No. 5), Saturday under the dome.
More than mere bragging rights are on the line - the winner advances to the Subway Bowl quarterfinals.
SOCCER SHOWDOWN . Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association championships, Wednesday to Saturday, various times at Coquitlam Town Centre Park.
The CCAA men's soccer champion-ships bring together eight teams, including Coquitlam's Douglas College Royals, with national bragging rights on the line. The B.C. champion Royals launch their run against defending national champion Northern Alberta Institute of Tech, Wednesday 3 p.m. at Cunnings Field.
THIN BLUE LINE . BCHL Hockey, Friday 7 p.m. at the Poirier Sports Centre.
The Coquitlam Express, back from a successful road trip, will look to extend their winning ways on home ice against the Chilliwack Chiefs. The visitors have had Coquitlam's number in two meetings so far, so goalie Cole Huggins and Co. are aiming to cool off the Chiefs.
