Heat hosts first concert of 2013

Dear Rouge, a pop/rock group from Vancouver and winner of the 2012 Peak Performance Project, the biggest radio station artist development project in Canada, is coming to Abbotsford Jan. 12.

The Abbotsford Heat in conjunction with 102.7 The Peak, are presenting a post-game concert featuring Dear Rouge at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre Saturday night after the hockey game.

The Vancouver-based husband and wife duo recently released their Kids Wanna Know EP in October with an accomplished set of songs, production and presence. Their alt-electro-dance-rock vibe provides a positive and up-beat shot in the arm, screaming at you to stand up and get lost in the feel-good energy of the moment. They've crafted an instantly recognizable sound that is familiar and comfortable, yet all their own.

This is the second of three postgame concerts as part of the Heat's Big Ticket campaign.

"We have had success with our post-game concerts and we are looking forward to hosting Dear Rouge in January," said Heat president Ryan Walter. "A survey of our fans confirmed that pricing and added value were important factors in the fan experience, so we are continuing to add value with live concerts following two more games this season."

Dear Rouge fans are called 'Rou-gies' and wear red to support the band. Heat fans can support the team and the band by 'Rocking Your Red' during the second game of the weekend series against the Chicago Wolves (AHL Affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks).
