The Abbotsford Heat has recalled defenseman Drew MacKenzie from the Utah Grizzlies of the East Coast Hockey League.

MacKenzie has played 25 games this season with the Grizzlies, recording five goals and nine assists for 14 points.

The 6'2', 195 lb. rear guard is playing his first professional season following a four-year career at the University of Vermont.

He was originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the Seventh round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
