Home ice continues to befuddle the Coquitlam Express.

The B.C. Hockey League squad suffered its fourth loss of the season on Saturday, a 2-1 setback at the hands of the visiting Prince George Spruce Kings.

All their losses have been suffered at the Poirier Sports Centre.

Cam Lawson - who two years ago played 52 games for Coquitlam - eluded defensive coverage to beat Cole Huggins with 1: 19 left in regulation to put Prince George ahead, capping a two-goal third period by the visitors.

Backstopped by netminder Kirk Thompson, the Spruce Kings pulled three points ahead of Coquitlam for a share of first place in the Mainland Division - tied with Chilliwack.

Thompson turned back 24 shots, while Huggins stopped 31 shots in the loss.

The Express, who took the lead 16 minutes into the game when Beau Orser netted an unassisted marker, sit three points back of first place with an 84-1-1 record.

The game featured the debut of two recent acquisitions, as Brandon Morley and Philip Zielonka joined Coquitlam via different routes.

The Express traded 20-year-old sniper Brady Shaw to division-rival Surrey on Friday for Morley, an 18year-old who was also the Eagles captain. Morley, a

Burnaby native, got off to a slow start this season with just five assists in 11 games after posting 14 goals and 47 points in 49 games last year. The club also signed Zielonka, a Quebec native who played last year alongside Marc Biega and Zachary Pryzbek at the Salsbury prep school in Connecticut.

Alexander Kerfoot, Morley and Pryzbek were also invited to this week's Canada West tryout camp, in preparation for the Canada Junior A Challenge. Last year, Kerfoot was a key part of Canada West's championship win, playing on a line with Morley.

The tournament this year runs Nov. 5 to 11 in Nova Scotia.

Coquitlam will look at breaking its four-game home ice losing streak on Friday, 7 p.m. when Chilliwack comes to town.

On Sunday, Coquitlam hosts the Langley Rivermen, 2 p.m. at the Poirier Sports Centre.
