Martial arts meet

 

 
 
 

On Saturday, May 5, more than 100 black belts, 300 competitors and 1,000 spectators will witness the Sun Hang Do Championship games at Thomas Haney Secondary in Maple Ridge.

More than 65 students will receive their black belts and certification during this spring tournament.

"The demonstration will be spectacular, including board breaking, brick breaking and self defense," said Master Dave Kinney.

Grand Master Kang the founder of Sun Hang Do will be in attendance.

Black belt competes at 8:30 a.m. and the colour belts start at 11 a.m. Main-event and black-belt ceremonies start at 2:30 p.m.

Admission at the door will be $2 with all proceeds going to the Children's Wish Foundation.
