Brad Ryan's goal in double-overtime earned the Coquitlam Express a 4-3 win over the Prince George Spruce Kings on Sunday, capping a two-game stop to the Cariboo city.

Ryan, who began the year in Prince George before being dealt in November to Coquitlam, converted Adam Rossignol's setup during three-on-three play.

"Rossignol got the puck past the defence and Brad did a good job of joining the rush," recalled Express head coach Jon Calvano. "It was a big goal for (Ryan)."

Justin Georgeson tallied once and set up two others, with single markers from Ben Israel and Rossignol. A day earlier, Coquitlam fell 5-3 to the Kings, despite a two-goal effort from Will Cook.

Calvano said that earning the split was important as the club tries to keep its playoff hopes alive.

"Both games were pretty similar and we probably deserved a little better fate in the opener," he noted. "We scored on our own net, but we carried that better effort into Sunday's game."

Coquitlam continues its road swing this weekend with games in Vernon and Penticton.
