They'll be throwing rocks at houses in Cloverdale next week when the British Columbia's best women curlers gather for the 2013 edition of the Scotties provincial championships.
For the second time in three years, the Cloverdale Curling Club will play host to the event, which begins Sunday and continues throughout the week until the final on Sunday, Jan. 20th at 2 pm.
Heading up the talented field is Kelowna's Kelly Scott rink, which will be chasing its third consecutive B.C.
Scotties title. Scott is a five-time provincial champion with a resume that includes Scott Tournament of Hearts Canadian titles in 2006 and 2007, a World Championship title in 2007 and a World Championship bronze medal in 2006.
The Scott foursome can expect a strong challenge from Cloverdale's Marla Mallet rink, a team that finished second to Scott last year on the North Shore. Mallet is herself a former B.C. champion with a wealth of experience in big games.
Shaw TV will be televising live at both the semi-finals on Saturday (Jan. 19th) and Sunday's finale.
