Isaiah Stevens continued his ascension up the local wrestling ranks, as the Terry Fox Ravens turned in some impressive results at last weekend's UBC Open Tournament.

Stevens took the top spot in 74 kg class in the junior boys division and was also awarded the Top Junior Male Wrestler Award. The previous week, Stevens went 3-0 at the Raven Invite and was given the Outstanding Junior Male Wrestler of the Tournament Award.

"He is quickly making a name for himself in this sport as other coaches notice his fantastic athleticism," Fox wrestling coach Jorge Knizek said in an e-mail.

Also bringing home gold medals were Michelle McQuillan (64 Juvenile Girls) and Colton Wheeler (130 kg Juvenile Boys).

Netting second-place finishes were Kurtis Rushworth (41 kg Jr Boys), Brycen Mayoh (48 kg Jr Boys), Bailey Milburn (63 kg Jr Boys), Iman Amir-Jabbari (66 kg Sr Boys), Brett Boyce (78 kg Sr Boys), Adam Hartle (84 kg Sr Boys), Mitchell McGarvey (110 kg Sr Boys), Jeff Tilkin (130 kg Sr Boys) and Kelsey Watmough (51 kg Jr Girls). As for team results, Fox's junior girls team placed first overall, while the senior boys and girls teams claimed second. The junior boys side finished fourth to bring the school's total record to 20-15.
