Janine Frazao wasted little time in getting the University of B.C. Thunderbirds' 2012 Canadian women's soccer season off on a good start.
The Port Moody native scored goals in the first minute of both the victories in the seasonopening weekend, tallying 49 seconds into the team's 5-1 win over the University of Calgary on Friday, and following with the eventual game winner 45 seconds into a 4-0 shutout over Lethbridge on Saturday. The reigning conference scoring champ finished with three goals over the two days.
. Coquitlam's Paul Clerc cashed in a pair and Port Moody's Navid Mashinchi counted three assists to lead the University of B.C. Thunderbirds men's soccer team past Lethbridge 8-0 in CIS soccer action.
It was part of a two-win weekend over their southern Alberta rival. In the opener, they rolled to a 3-0 decision, with Mashinchi scoring once.
