Coquitlam’s Brittany Rogers is spearheading a University of Georgia Gym Dogs revival.

The Canadian Olympian helped the No. 8-ranked Georgia gymnastics team capture fourth place at last week’s Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, TX.

Rogers’ performance earned her the Southeastern Conference’s Freshman of the Week award.

The first-year student/athlete scored career highs on three events, including tying for second on the vault with a score of 9.9 that equaled her season high. She led the team on both vault and bars with identical 9.9 scores.

Rogers, 19, also posted a 9.825 on the balance beam.

Although the fourth-place showing was considered a bit of a disappointment for the program, the result helped the school jump up one spot, from ninth overall in the GymInfo rankings.

In individual NCAA rankings, Rogers is tied for 20th spot on vault.
