An arrest warrant has been issued for fake dentist David Wu, who formerly practised in Port Moody.
The College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. said it was satisfied to hear B.C. Supreme Court associate Chief Justice Austin Cullen issued not only a warrant but also a permanent
injunction on Wu on Monday.
Wu, also known as Tung Sheng Wu, or any legal counsel on his behalf did not
attend the court proceedings on Monday, which found that he breached a 2003 order prohibiting him from being a dentist.
Last Wednesday, health officials sent out a warning to anyone who received dental treatment from Wu that they may have been exposed to serious viruses.
Fraser Health issued the alert Wednesday regarding Wu, who they say has been performing dental procedures illegally in Burnaby, and before that, in Port Moody.
According to the health authority's press release, the surgeon's college investigation
found instruments used by Wu were not properly cleaned or sterilized and there is a chance individuals who received dental procedures from him could have been exposed to blood-borne viruses like hepatitis B and C and HIV.
